Fourth Sunday of Lent

26 March 2006

Praised be Jesus Christ! Now and forever!

Dear Friends in Christ,

Several things for your attention:

  1. This Thursday, March 30th, is an Open House in our newly renovated Middle School. The doors will be open from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, and everyone is welcome to come stroll through the classrooms and dining room to have a look at the extraordinary changes brought about during the nine months of construction. At 7:00 pm we will have a brief ceremony in the dining room to acknowledge those who made this work possible, to announce new dedications of the building and its main rooms, and to bless the renewed facility. Please join us on Thursday evening to celebrate this milestone in the history of St. Mary’s School.
  2. Those who intend to join the pilgrimage to Rome for the diaconal ordinations of Michael Cassabon this Fall need to return a completed registration form and a $300 deposit before this Friday. You can request a form online from Caravelle Tours by emailing them at info@caravelletours.com or you can pick up a travel brochure and registration form in the church office between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
  3. This Friday and Saturday, March 31st and April 1st, we are hosting a giant Yard Sale to benefit the parish school. The hours are 4 to 7 pm on Friday and 8 am to noon on Saturday. All items for sale will be on display in the trailer behind Sacred Heart Hall (the temporary building we used for school during the renovation work), so come to have a look, rain or shine. Donations of items to sell are also welcome, and information on when to bring donated items is in the bulletin.
  4. Finally, the Nashville Dominicans have come a critical step closer to sending Sisters to St. Mary’s. This past week the governing Council of the Congregation decided to send three more Sisters to visit us to make determinations about a convent and several other logistical matters, and pending a satisfactory resolution of these questions, the Council will then make a final decision about sending Sisters to Greenville this summer. The three Sisters from Nashville will visit us on the weekend of Palm Sunday, and I ask you to continue to pray for this intention.
