Watchman Program

In an effort to educate the community on hospice and end-of-life issues, St. Francis Hospice has begun the Watchman Program. The Watchman Program is now actively recruiting volunteers or "watchmen" from churches to educate their congregations about hospice and end-of-life matters.

Stuart Miller is the new Watchman for St. Mary's. Stuart has been involved in caring for the dying for years as a volunteer for St. Francis and says that he is eager to serve St. Mary's "by educating parishioners about end-of-life concerns and then being there to walk through difficult times with those facing terminal illness."

Stuart is available to educate individuals or groups on end-of-life issues, the criteria for hospice and the benefits of hospice to the patient and family. Parishioner Bill Kinard also serves on the Watchman Board.
