Bishop Robert J. Baker
The Most Reverend Robert J. Baker has been named the Bishop of Birmingham in Alabama by Pope Benedict XVI. The appointment was announced on 14 August 2007, and from that day until his installation as the Bishop of Birmingham, Bishop Baker will remain the Administrator of the Diocese of Charleston.
The Diocese of Birmingham, which is home to the Eternal Word Television Network, was founded in 1969 and included the 39 northernmost counties of Alabama.
