Sacred Heart Columbarium of Saint Mary's Catholic Church

Saint Mary’s is pleased to unveil our Columbarium.

For many centuries, the Catholic Church did not allow cremation. However, in 1963, the Catholic Church first allowed cremation as an option for Catholics. In our time, cremation is simply one of several options for the caring for the mortal remains of those we love. Catholics are now at liberty to choose cremation and to conduct funeral rites with the cremated remains present.

Our Sacred Heart Columbarium will have 600 niches arranged in fourteen banks. Each niche can contain only one urn, and the black granite cover of each niche will e engraved by the church with the name of the person whose remains rest in the niches along with the dates of birth and death.

Please review the attached documents and contact Pat Perkins with any questions.
